Esther's 21st Birthday

posted by tristan @ 3/26/2006 06:53:00 PM

Yesterday was Esther's 21st Birthday. Girl, she's 21 now. And this lead me thinking 3 months later it will be my turn. With just a blink of an eye, I might be 30 already.

Anyway, I sabotaged her yesterday. I sacrificed ok! Coz' no one volunteer to do that, as her 11 years bestie bestie, I've got to do my part and make her dirty. And of course, I can't escape the deadly ordeal too. I was very oily. So guys, please consider ordering a creamy cake for your birthday. I should take into Craig's suggestion - cookies (smash to face very painful wor), erjie's suggestions - Kueh Lapis, or the multi-colour kueh, Daryl's suggestion - Pandan Cake. Hope you like the gift and had the time of your life yesterday.

Happy Birthday once again!

Sentosa

posted by tristan @ 3/23/2006 07:43:00 PM

Its been almost 6 months since I last went to sentosa. Apparently, its undergoing some major face lift. The island gonna be filled with more fun and excitement in future. Yesterday was an OFF day for us before we report to our respective unit for OJE today. About the OJE, lets not mention about it.

So we decided to chill out at sentosa and I really had a great time there. Because in the past, I always head there for a tanning session and finally I've done something different. Let the photos do all the talking.

Define Shopping.

posted by tristan @ 3/19/2006 10:45:00 AM

Lately I read an article that say "Shopping is getting things on impluse". Whatever you like, you just get it on the spot without further thinking if you really need it. And if you regret after buying, you have fulfilled part of the shopping criteria. That's why it said its impulsive buying.

Anyway, I had a great saturday afternoon. Finally doing something I like and had been thinking for so long (to be revealed soon). Then met lian for some shopping spree, more like window shopping. Its been quite sometime since I last went to Orchard, and whatever that caught my eyes, I just feel like getting them. Brought lian to DFS yesterday and I guess we really had a great time there. Of course, I still can't get over that Gucci cardholder, and I promised myself I want that by end of this year. Yahooooo!
Also, managed to get some gifts for my precious friends who's 21st falls on this month, which was the main purpose for the day.

Then went to Selegie to try the legendary beancurd, which lian claims that it won't cut your throat when you slurp it down. True! The beancurd is really nice, extremely smooth and that beannie taste is stronger than any other beancurd you find in the market.

Going to a new camp this week. And I really love this few months spent in OETI. Met a group of wonderful instructors and people. Many thanks to these people whom make life so interesting.

Still remember i'd posted an entry that I'll like to share with you the a photo of me, my bro and my cousin when we were young? I bet you have forgotten already but I didn't, as promised (though it takes a few months to do this), hey its here!

The past: This was taken a 15 years ago.

Now: Look how much we've grown? How we've changed? (actually a lot of people said I didn't really change much)

What will be the picture like in 10 to 20 years time? Perhaps, with children clinging onto your hands, moustache on my face and white hair starts to grow.

Oh! these are memories and just part of growing up.... old in fact.

Explain the unexplainable

posted by tristan @ 3/12/2006 02:03:00 PM

My battery is recharged! I'm over and done with the last guard duty at the current unit, well, for a moment only. Performing guard duty is the only time when I can let my brain roam extensively, stare at the gate blankly and needless to seek permission to day-dream. While I was performing my 3rd shift yesterday, my mind wondered to some unexplainable stuff again...

Did your parents ever warn or tell you not to meddle with Praying Mantis and Moth? For it might be our ancestors? Sometimes you will just feel like laughing your lungs out for this simple reason. And for those who often seek scientific explainations, they would just tumble on the ground, giving out a loud burst. I would like to relate this 2 incidents to you, 1 was an up-close and personal experience, the other was told by, non other than mum.

My granny passed away in 94. I was still in Primary 3 back then. This scene still lingers and remain vivid in my mind now - Almost like fresh. We cousins slept at the void deck on the last day of the wake. That morning, we woke up at 7a.m sighting a moth at my gran's coffin. Everyone started saying it was my grandpa, whom passed away 20 years ago. While performing the final ritual before moving off, there came another moth, this time round, they believed it was my grandma. Shortly after the ritual ended, both moth flew away, together. That scene somehow touches my heart. It was like my grandpa bringing my granny away and love can be felt.

Here's to relate you another incident. About 2 years back, my uncle passed away from liver failure. My aunt was left with 3 children. Fortunately, my cousins are all grown up, the youngest among the 3 siblings is already 16 this year. Last november, her elder sister finally settled down and got married. That night before my cousin's wedding ceremony, my aunty saw a moth in her room. My mum and her sisters believed that it was my uncle who's back to see her daughter tieing knots. In fact, everynow and then, during festive season, the moth would come and go. Its almost like housevisiting.

I do believe in this unexplainable tales and stories. I'm not that kind of person who seek for an answers based on facts. Afterall, there are still some things which human can't explain yet forcefully throw in their assumptions just to make things right. What about you? Do you believe in them?

The gruesome death show....

posted by tristan @ 3/04/2006 03:21:00 PM

After 3 long years (actually its quite fast though) after FD 2, Esther and I watched FD 3 last night. I love it, its awesome - bloody, disgusting, and new death methods. lolx!

So I guess after watching you might want to consider the followings:

1) A roller coaster ride

2) A self tanning session using UV.

3) Take away burgers at ECP drive through.

4) Working at the warehouse. (Esther love this part)

5) A MRT ride

6) Going to a funfair with fireworks

7) And going to the gym.

Anyway, we headed to 85 for supper afterthat. We're famished after the show, though our mind still filled with smashed brain and oozing blood. And the funny thing is, while waiting for 17, 28 bypass and suddenly the bus light started to fickle and bus went dead. And I told Esther that it maybe part of death's plan. Obviously I'm traumatised by the movie. Anyway, thanks to this pal, after every trip like got some goodies to take de. Don't worry, all the cards and memo are well kept. One fine day I shall let u guys see the entire collection of our friendship greetings k.

Yesterday our wing had Cohesion again at East Coast Park. I'm so tempted to rent a bicycle to comb the entire ECP. Been like so many years since I last get on a bicycle. But too bad my platoon mates wanted to bowl but we ended up chilling out at starbucks instead. 3 more weeks before I pass out and go for OJT for 2 months. Its a brand new environment again. Sometimes it sucks to constantly change environment, getting to know new people again and again.

And today, went to Bugis alone. Supposed to meet bro to view condo at Robertson Quay then meet lian they all at Suntec for Career fair. But not feeling very well, so dropped both plans. I'm going to take a nap now.

Shall update again soon. take care!
